Movie matching
Match with movie lovers who actually share your taste
Swipe films, get matched by real overlap in what you like, then watch movies together online in a synced room with live chat — free to start.
How movie matching works
Every swipe adds to a taste profile — genres, eras, languages and the specific titles you liked or skipped. Other viewers are scored on how much that profile agrees with yours, with rare agreement weighted higher than agreement on popular blockbusters.
- Shared titles first. Your match card shows the films you both liked, so you can judge the overlap yourself.
- Country and region aware. Matches are ranked so you share streaming catalogues and can realistically watch at the same time.
- Instant room. A mutual match opens a direct conversation and a private watch room in the same step.
From match to movie night in minutes
Start with an official trailer inside the room, queue a film everyone can legally stream, and press play on a countdown. Reactions, emoji and voice notes keep the night social without talking over the film. The full flow is covered in our online watch party guide and our guide to watching movies together online.
Frequently asked questions
How do I match with movie lovers online?
Swipe through films to build a taste profile. Lets Watch scores other viewers by shared titles, genre overlap, country and age, and a mutual like opens a chat and a private watch room instantly.
Is the movie matching app free?
Yes. Matching, chat and synced watch rooms are free to use. Premium (€7.99/month) removes the daily swipe limit and the one-active-room limit.
Can I watch movies with strangers safely?
Conversations stay in the app, rooms are invite-only by default, and block and report controls are available in every conversation and room.
How many films should I rate before matching works well?
Around fifty. Overlap scores are noisy below that and become sharp quickly afterwards, especially if you record dislikes as well as likes.
